The course will also improve participants understanding of the subject enabling them to better identify victims  and improve their response and assistance. A major component of this course covers Internal Trafficking of UK Adults & Children.

National Referral Mechanism

 

Who’s it for: Specially designed for first responders. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the Council of Europe Convention against Trafficking in Human Beings and understand the International definition of Trafficked Human Beings in relation to the National Referral Mechanism. Participants will gain the confidence and understanding to submit high quality referrals to the NRM ensuring the best possible outcomes for potential victims whilst ensuring their corporate and statutory responsibility is discharged effectively.

 

The course covers:

  • • Introduction to the Council of Europe convention on action against Trafficking in Human      Beings (THB)

  • • International definition: Palermo Protocol

  • • The National Referral Mechanism (NRM)

  • • Statutory Victim care in the UK

  • • Introduction to the NRM forms

Introduction to Working with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children

Who’s it for: This course is designed to give the front line practitioner from any agency, statutory or non-statutory, a practical guide to working with and meeting the needs of unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC). It will cover the practicalities of identifying and meeting the needs of UASC, the asylum process, human trafficking and radicalisation. The course will provide participants with the knowledge and understanding they need to meet the needs of unaccompanied asylum seeking children, how to identify and manage specific risks associated with the cohort of young people and to ensure their corporate and statutory responsibility is discharged effectively.

Age Assessment Training

 

Who’s it for: Specially designed for social workers to give them the skills and training required to undertake age assessments. This training will be delivered by social work trained professionals who have undertaken hundreds of age assessments in their statutory roles and have successfully been through the judicial review process. The course will give you all of the tools that you need to undertake a robust age assessment which will have the best chance of standing up to any potential challenge while ensuring corporate and statutory responsibility is discharged effectively.
